Welcome to Issaquah

Issaquah was a town originally called Squak, a Native American name meant to mimic the cry or squawk of a bird. During the late 1800s, the town served mostly the coal miners of Squak and Cougar Mountains of the Issaquah Alps mountain chain. Much, much later, the Boeing Company and Microsoft would establish offices in Issaquah, conveniently located just 16 miles east of Seattle via the Interstate 90 corridor Today, Issaquah is home to close to 32,000 people.
